As a Maternity Nurse, my goal is to instil confidence, provide support and advise parents in the first few months, in a very important, yet neglected, role in society
My name is Zimmie and I have worked in the childcare industry for 28 years since having my daughter at just 19!
At a young age, I took her to work with me, strapped to my hip with snacks on hand and ran a local playgroup which cemented my love of working with children and nurturing their emotional and physical wellbeing.
I worked in various playgroups and nurseries before dipping my toes into the world of 11-16yr olds (which definitely wasn’t for me!) I then found a lovely nanny family and stayed with the twins for 4 years until they went to school.
Later, I discovered the wonderful world of Maternity Nursing and that is what I have done for the past 12 years!
My role as a Maternity Nurse is to help and support parents with their new baby. Providing insightful tricks of the trade, learnt through many years’ experience. I have extensive experience implementing chosen feeding systems; whether this is breast or bottle (I am qualified and happy to help in both), I can support and enable parents to enjoy those early days and ensuring they get some much-needed rest.
I am confident and skilled at putting gentle routines into place and helping babies to adjust to these, which I will implement after the initial first weeks of baby’s life. I believe their first weeks should be kept solely for cuddling and nurturing baby, so everyone has time to settle after the birthing experience and adjust to the new arrival. I always say to clients’ “babies are little humans and I can do everything in my power to guide, but at the end of the day, they have their ideas and opinions on what they would like to do” just like us!
As a Maternity Nurse, my goal is to instil confidence, provide support and advise parents in the first few months, in a very important, yet neglected, role in society. I am with the family to guide and educate in all aspects of childcare, and to use my initiative to support the whole family in the most helpful and reassuring manner possible and leave the family empowered in their calm and happy home.

I cannot recommend Zimmie highly enough. We had two other baby nurses in the US, and Zimmie is in her own league separate to any other baby nurses. She is incredibly patient, calm, warm and has the most infectious laugh and smile.
